The face is like magnificent scenery—but always in movement. So many things can be seen: passed seasons, to be sure, but also emotions and each person’s manifestation of his or her personality. To look closely into a person’s face, to penetrate another’s ability to see is similar to taking a trip.

Every face is different. One face may remain a mystery while another is completely open and without fear. Some keep their distance; others try to hide behind dark glasses or some type of uniform. All the while, clowns attempt to express themselves with full liberty under their obvious masks.

For me, I started with an inquisitive look and tried to penetrate each persona. In so doing, I put them on the canvas and reconstituted them in my own manner.
