You have reached the Web site of Francette Labatut, with studios in Uzès, a small medieval town in Provence, and in Sun Valley, Idaho.

On this Web site, you can find many of my paintings. Just go to the different collections. Each thumbnail photo can be enlarged and then printed. Please visit my site regularly, for I will add paintings all of the time. I never stop working!

You can also see where I have shown my works and where I will show them.

If you would like to be on my mailing list, please contact me. If you wish to discuss anything about my work, contact me and I will either e-mail you or call you if you leave a telephone number.

I am exclusively represented in the Sun Valley region by the Zantman Gallery.

"Pieces of the Sky"

This collection regroups many of my recent paintings with others that I have created since 2000. In that year, I was painting in my Paris studio. At that time, I was dreaming of finding myself in the great outdoors, so I painted free-flying birds on a background of blue skies, both real and somewhat unreal.

In my studio in Uzès in Provence, in the middle of nature, I returned to this same theme. For me, though, the subject matter is abstract, without end, and with multiple interpretations. Such a theme allows me to use all of the colors in the rainbow and to adapt to a technique that suits me well—what I call "la peinture au chiffon".

This collection will be shown at Saint-Quentin La Poterie, a small village near Uzès, during the months of May and June 2007. I am going to sell the sky in small pieces!
